Description: Hayden stands at an intimidating six feet and four inches. Not only is his build tall, but also muscular. At first glance, he seems to be completely muscle. Hayden prefers to keep his dirty blonde hair that turns darker in the winter cut short. His grey blue eyes are constantly eyeing his surroundings while his left hand will occasionally twitch. Three long scars run from Hayden's left shoulder to his left wrist and he flaunts these scars proudly. Hayden's hands are hard and callused after his days in the arena and his skin seems to be permanently tanned. He is often seen wearing short sleeved shirts with shorts no matter what the temperature is. Several small scars are scattered across his body. Even though Hayden's ears are slightly too small for his large head, he does not have to worry about being taunted because of them. Since he was in the arena, his smile appears less often, but when it does, it immediately softens his usually hard expression. While his smile can soften his expression, a glare from Hayden can send anyone running.
Personality: Hayden can be both a teddy bear and a grizzly bear. Around friends and family, Hayden is most definitely a teddy bear. He loves to joke around and make others laugh. When he is with those that he cares about, he lets down his cold walls and is a very relaxed and easy going person. Around others, however, Hayden is more of a grizzly bear. He can seem very intimidating and even enjoys scaring the Career boys at training. He can have a short temper at times and be very sarcastic. Hayden takes the Games very seriously and hates when the Careers from his District see it as merely a fun way to gain popularity. He sees violence as the perfect way to solve problems. He does not often regret anything he did in the arena, but Hayden does miss his fellow District 1 tribute. When Hayden is on edge, his reflexes are lightening quick. During his Hunger Games year, Hayden won because of his superiority in any hand to hand combat and his excellent ability with swords and spears. Hayden hates the cold and has become even more sensitive to temperature after returning from the arena. He can hold a grudge for years and enjoys plotting revenge on anyone who crosses him or the people he cares about. Hayden can be very protective of both his friends and family. Depending on whether you are on Hayden's good side or bad side, you may see the grizzly bear or the teddy bear.
History: Hayden is the oldest child to Penelope and Apollo Pride. He has two younger siblings, the twins, who are both only ten years old. Hayden was a clown since he was younger. Because of his relaxed personality and sense of humor, he made friends quickly. Apollo Pride was the victor of the fourty-eigth Hunger Games and quickly had Hayden enrolled in Career training. By the time he was twelve, Hayden has mastered spear throwing and was quickly improving in sword fighting. He was always at the top of his age group in hand to hand combat because of his large size. On the day of the reaping for the seventy-seventh Hunger Games, Hayden was chosen as the District 1 male tribute. Luxury Romano was the female tribute for District 1 and Hayden grew attached to her quickly. Because both Hayden and Luxury were Careers, they quickly formed a pack with the other Career tributes form Districts 2 and 4. It was easy for their mentor, the winner of the sixty-third Hunger Games, to choose Hayden's approach to the interviews: humor. Hayden won over the audience with his strange combination of vicious fighter and lovable jokester. His score in training was a winning 10 and Hayden even looked forward to entering the arena. When he did enter the arena, Hayden was no where near prepared to deal with the emotional struggle that faced him.
The arena that year was a large beach containing a beach area, small cove, rocky cliffs and palm tree forest. Hayden killed almost half of the tributes and as the days continued, he became more and more violent. He and Luxury teamed up to take down the other Careers as the number of tributes grew smaller and smaller before they finally had to part ways. As the final days approached, Hayden began to worry that he would have to fight Luxury to win. This fear vanished, however, when on the second to last day, the tribute from District 9, a boy almost as large as Hayden, killed Luxury. In his last battle, Hayden was severely injured on his left arm by mutant iguanas reaching a height of nine feet that were sent out to quicken the pace of the finale. He finally managed to defeat the District 9 boy, but would be forever scarred both mentally and physically.
