Reason: because i think it would nice to be a tribute and it would give me something else to post during my posting sprees i have on here.
Character: Nightshade Bluesea
Position: Tribute
Role Playing Example:
As I look around the train all I can think about is Howi. He had volunteered for the boy who's named got chosen. Just like he promised me he would. Then I close my eye and I start to remember just before the reaping.
I woke up to a bad dream and I woke up screaming. My mom couldn't hear me so she couldn't help me. I hated that dream and I knew it could not be true. My name was only in that bowl about 5 maybe 10 times. We have so many girls in this district my name could not have gotten picked, but in my dream it was. Most of my dreams like that have became true. I hope this one won't.
I got out of bed and my mom was waiting for me downstairs. She had everything set up and ready to go. She put my hair into two french braids like she does every reaping. Then after she was done she made me breakfast. I told her I wasn't hungry but its not like she can hear me.
She set my food down in front of me and I do my usually sniffing of my food. Making sure It doesn't smell weird. So because it did not smell weird I ate it. Then she got my clothes ready for me. I got to wear a blue shirt with a black loss skirt that went down almost to my knees. Then she hadn't picked out my shoes yet so i quickly put on my red combat boots.
After I was done I ran out of the house so fast my mom could not catch me. After I was out of the house I ran to find Howi. When I found him I ran right into his arms. I had to tell him my dream I had to. Once I was out of his arms I told him my dream. After I was done he pulled me back into his arms and petted my hair. He keep saying "Your name is only in there maybe 10 times and there are a lot of other girls. It won't be you. It wont." I wanted to believe him I did but somewhere in my gut was telling me "this time It's not true."
We walked to the reaping station together. "I will find you after okay?" He told me. I nodded and went to get my figure pricked. After I went to the spot where us 16 year olds went. I looked around and soon found Howi over in the boys section. I smiled and waved. He did the same.
Than the lady with big puffy hair came up to the microphone. "Welcome, welcome. To the 80th annual Hunger Games. Now we have a video all the way from the capitol." We all watched the video like we do every year. It starts to get a little repetitive. When It was done the lady started to talk again."Now time for the reaping to start. As always lady's first." I quickly turned my head over to Howi and he mouthed "not you its not going to be you." Then I looked back at the lady and she had picked a name already. She cleared her thought before she spoke "Nightshade Bluesea."
As soon as she said my name I almost fell to the floor. I turned to look at Howi and he was almost in tears. Then I looked to my other side and saw that most of the girls had backed up or moved up to make a pathway to the peacekeepers that would be on the other side. I started to walk but really slowly.
I made it over to the peacekeeper and the pushed me along to the stage. I started to walk up the stairs. As I did the lady had her hand out like she was going to help me up, but I could hear her saying "Come on." Once I was up on the stage she went over to the mic. "How about a round of applause for District 11's girl tribute." Nobody clapped but they did kiss their left hand and put it up in the air.
The lady then started to talk again. "now for the boys." I knew now that my name had been called she would not have to call the name Howi would volunteer. She came back to the mic and said "Luke locksmith." I knew it would not matter that she said his name because as soon as she did I heard Howi.
"I volunteer!" Then I see him come out of the crowd of boys. The lady looked shocked. The peacekeepers pushed Howi along like they did me. Soon he was up on the stage with me. The lady told us to shake hands and we did. Then she had us go into the justice building and there we would wait for our good byes.
Only I wouldn't be getting any so why put me in here. My mom wouldn't have been out there so she wouldn't have seen me get chosen. The only friend I have is Lylia and she can't even touch the sun. As soon as that idea ran through my head I hear a knock at the door. "come in." I said. Then I see Lylia's white hair come through the door. I ran over and gave her a big hug.
"You have to win please. You have to. For me please." She said almost in tears. I told her I would try my hardest to win. After I said that the peacekeepers were pulling her out the door. I tried to keep her a little longer seeing as how I wouldn't be getting anymore visitors, but they wouldn't let me.
I opened my hand and saw a little bracelet. It was the color of Nightshade, and it also had my first initial and her first initial. I smiled and put it on. This would be my token from my district. I smiled and the peacekeepers came back in and took me to the car where I would bee taken to the train. While we were in the car the lady started to say stuff about the capitol. It wasn't like I cared much about it anyway.
Now I opened my eyes back up to see Howi in front of me. He gave me a hug and then left to go find our mentor. I smiled and tried to get up. But being on a train is nothing I have ever done before so my legs felt shaky.
