Drawing Under A Sycamore Tree `` Alicia

[Allison]

Jayden scanned the paper and read her question. He handed it back slowly still pondering over his question. "No." He stated gently with a gentle shake of his head. How could she possible think she hated him? Lazily he ran his fingers through his brown hair trying to figure what else he could say. "I could never hate you for what you've told me. If anything I envy you for your courage and strength." He started off and shifted his position again. This time he crossed his legs in a fashion in which Native Americans did long ago. He gripped a piece of fabric from his pant leg and folded it back.

Jay looked past Alicia to the shops again before looking around for anyone who could possibly cause any trouble. He looked back at the blue haired avox that sat in-front of him. "I don't know anyone in this district that would have fought to get away and then traveled to a completely different district just so they wouldn't have to work the Capitol. For a matter of fact I don't know anyone who would have the will to live after that." He continued occasionally looking to the ground. "You're just down right amazing."

I thought about crying. He thought I was amazing. Most people after learning about me just walk away yelling freak. I smiled with my eyes all teary. "What do you think about coming with me to go find my brother?" I write down. While I hand it to him my mind races with stuff that he might say. He might say sure. then again he might say no I don't want to die. Why am I so paranoid.

[Allison]

Jayden read the paper once and read it about fifty times more just to make sure he wasn't missing words. Alicia wanted him to help her find her missing twin brother. He felt as if his body had turned as white as a sheet but thankfully hadn't. Slowly he handed the paper back to her still trying to figure out what to say. He stopped folding his pant leg for a second, helping her could result in him getting caught and result in a terrible punishment. He let his eyes wander down the street toward his house which held his outgoing but rather harsh tongued brother. Then he let his eyes wander back to Alicia as he realized he had yet to answer her question.

Jay drew in a long but rather shaky breath will still deciding. Slowly he rested his head on his palm with his elbow resting on his knee. Man, I take forever to make one decision, he thought to himself, then again this is a huge one to be making. A part of his mind was telling him to help her and learn more about her but then the other half was telling him not, that it was far to risky. Once he said yes though he knew he wouldn't be able to just pull out of this mission. "I'll help you." He answered finally while sitting up straight. Better that he did than didn't after all he knew how to get his hands on weapons and other important objects that would help them make their way to where ever this lost twin of hers was.

"I'll help you." I smile and give him a hug. At least somebody will help me. Now if only my sister will come with me but I have a feeling she won't. I pull away and keep smiling at him. I take my paper and write, "Thank you." I hand it to him still happy.

Now all we need is a plan. I know were he is. I just don't know how to get there. What if he is already trying to find me? These thoughts keep running through my head until I feel like I am spinning. I blink my eyes a few times to stop that feeling.

Jayden was shocked when he felt arms wrap around him in a hug. He wasn't used to such actions from anyone in the district and for a brief second he hugged her back. Then she pulled away and he smiled sheepishly. He took the paper and let his eyes skin over the two words before handing it back. "You're welcome," He replied gently. Generally people didn't thank him for anything because he was just the weird teenager. A weird feeling bubbled through him and he had no idea what it was. Maybe joy or happiness but he couldn't put his finger on which emotion it possibly could be.

He leaned back against the sycamore tree, mind racing with ideas and yet he was still rather speechless about this whole day. Slowly he ran his hand through his brown hair and drew in a deep breath. "Do you know where he is?" Jay asked finally. He probably should have asked before accepting the task of a search and rescue. Oh well, to late to take his answer back know. He searched Alicia with gentle eyes still trying to figure out why anyone put through what she had been, could even be so strong and determined to save her own family. Maybe after he helped her she would leave and return back to district one to be with her family. The thought had managed to make him shutter in side.

Jay didn't want to loose any possible friend of his especially when he had non or very few at the most. He picked up his sketch book again and folded the flimsy exterior lazily to keep himself from folding it flat against itself. Then he stopped as he looked at the thing that labeled him as the crazy one. He truly was crazy because of his drawings and possibly even a bit mental unstable. Slowly he stopped and let the sketch pad just fall into his lap. Maybe this adventure would be good for him. Though he would still have to use his mind to help create a plan to get out of this district to where ever they were going.

"Do you know where he is?" Jayden asked me. I did know where he is at least I think I did. I know he said I went to the woods behind our house to District 7. So if that was true than he was in the house bound the woods behind our house. "Yes from the letter he sent me He told me clues so I hope my mind is right." I wrote and handed it to him. Once I handed it to him I crawled over to him and sat next to him. I thought about putting my head on his shoulder but I didn't know how he would take to it, so I didn't.

Jayden grabbed onto the piece of paper and read the words written upon it. All she had was clues and no solid facts. Maybe not the best thing to have gotten himself into but it should be a fun adventure as long as they didn't get caught. He noticed as Alicia moved to sit besides him under the sycamore tree. Slowly he reached across to hand the paper back. "All right. Well then. Where do you think he is?" He asked not really sure if he should have asked for the clues or not.

Silently he shifted the way he was sitting so his legs were stretched out again. Jay always had a hard time sitting still for a long period of time and often would walk around his room. He wanted to get back up and walk around the town square but he had to find out more about where this mysterious avox brother of hers could be. His mind ran through the places the twin could be that wasn't the capitol or in this district. Currently he wouldn't be back in their home district so that left nine more districts not counting the ruined remains of district thirteen. Nothing popped to mind and Jay looked back at Alicia waiting for her to scribble down an answer.

"All right. Well then. Where do you think he is? Well the one thing I know is he is in District 7. That I did know. I knew he was in District 7 on the base of the forest. Which was near our old house. Maybe is I send him a letter he could stay outside and wait for me. I look at Jayden. I want him to look in my eyes and believe me that I know where he is. Only I know he won't. Most people did not even believe me when I could talk. "He told me that he ran to the woods behind my house and into District 7. He also said that he was on the edge of the forest barrier." I handed it to him and put my head on his shoulder. I was sick and tired of worrying. If he did not like my head on his shoulder he would move it.

[Allison]

Alicia had put her head on Jayden's shoulder as he grabbed the paper. Slowly he looked at her before looking back toward what she had written. District seven, the wooded lands that helped supply parchment and other resources created from trees. He sat in the silence and tried to figure out how they could possibly get to that district from where they sat. Train would be to much of a hassle and district three wasn't know for their boat making skills let alone water travel. Both means of transportation clearly out of the picture or at least for now. Slowly he handed the paper back and wrapped an arm around her waist. He didn't know what else to do when someone leaned their head on his shoulder. Nobody had before so this was new.

Jay looked at the town streets still deep in thought. If they left on foot they would be detected as missing and the Capitol would have hoover-crafts looking for them. They would have to stick to the shadows and thick vegetation or travel by night if they wanted to stay alive. Both of which were still rather dangerous and didn't assure they wouldn't be caught. He bit lightly on the inside of his cheek and looked at Alicia. "Well," He started off trying to find the right words, "there are so many ways about this and none are truly safe. Are you sure you want to do this?"
