I keep walking and ignore the peacekeepers. I want to punch them in their faces. Maybe that's just the Training speaking but I want to. I look at them and they look at me. I continue to walk before one puts his hand on my arm. I quickly take his arm and fling him on the ground.

Realizing that's what they wanted I ran. I didn't think about where I just ran. I opened my eyes and saw I was in the woods. I turned around and I saw nobody but trees. I then heard a growl. I quickly turned around and saw a wild dog.

I went down on my knees and it jumped over me. It was then I realized a peacekeeper followed me. Well now the peacekeeper can't run back. Once the dog was done it walked over to me and layed down on the ground.

I studied Brody, looking him over as his watched Alicia leave the two of us. It was quite obvious he was thinking about her, about how she was a runaway avox living in District 3. To be honest, I thought about it everyday, re-telling her story to myself over and over again, because it really made no sense to me. She and her brother ran into a Peacekeeper with a basket of stolen apples, were sent to the Capitol to become Avoxes, and escaped by fighting several Peacekeepers. They then made their way to one of the districts.For some reason, it just plain confused me. Shaking myself mentally, I listened as he answered my question. 

"I guess it depends on how you look at it, but I personally did not mean it as an insult."

As we began to walk several paces behind Alicia, our eyes trained on both her and the group of Peacekeepers, multiple thoughts began forming in my head. Only then did I realize Brody was looking at me, and I glanced up at him, tearing my attention from the Peacekeepers for only a moment. "You know, you only asked me to hold it," I whispered softly, only loud enough for him to hear. My gaze was once again trained on the Peacekeepers, although one in particular caught my eye. Seconds later, he placed his hand on Alicia's arm, and in return, she grabbed him and flung him onto the ground. 

Quickly, I switched the jacket over to my free hand, then slid the crumpled paper into the eighteen-year-old's hand, closing his fingers over it without ever taking my eyes off of the group only a little in front of us. I then handed him the jacket, not taking any time to see if he had gotten ahold of it, or if I'd let go early. I was preoccupied with Alicia and the Peacekeepers. The damn Peacekeepers...

The blue-haired girl had taken off into the forest, only one of the Peacekeepers running in after her. I let an evident smirk slide onto my face at the sight of the Peacekeeper on the ground, clearly hurt and embarrassed. I knew Alicia could take care of one, but the others seemed to be psyching themselves up to follow the one stupid enough to go in after her. There was lots of screaming and yelling that had filled the air within the last few seconds, causing everyone in close distance to freeze in their tracks. All attention was on Brody and I, the group of Peacekeepers, and the forest in which the girl had run off into.  

Hastily, I stepped up to the Peacekeeper closest to me, and slapped him with both hands simultaneously. I guess you could say I clapped his face. That thought made me want to burst out into laughter, but at this time, it would be completely inappropriate.  Everyone was now looking at me, and I felt like their eyes were boring into my soul, sending an unnoticeable shiver down my spine. The Peacekeepers were stunned; mouths wide-open. Clearly, they were surprised that I'd had the audacity to slap someone, let alone a Peacekeeper.

Damn you all... I thought bitterly, my stare cold and harsh.

OOC: Could I have used the word 'Peacekeepers' any more? I mean, really. I used it, like, ten thousand times. Oh well... I had no muse whatsoever for this post, so... KITTY!!! >^.^<

"You know, you only asked me to hold it," Carlyn whispered and Brody could not help but giver her an exasperated look. His attention was quickly diverted, however, when a loud thump resounded leaving the area otherwise completely silent. Brody, like everyone else close enough to witness the event, felt his eyes widen and his mouth go dry at the sight of Alicia throwing an unlucky Peacekeeper over her shoulder and onto the ground. Within a few seconds, chaos took over and Brody knew he had to do something. This day just keeps getting more.....interesting, he decided, unsure if this was a good or bad sort of interesting.

Turning to his left, Brody watched as Alicia began to run while a Peacekeeper sprinted after her. The victim of the Avox's wrath still lay on the ground and another soon found himself being slapped, or clapped, by Carlyn. Well don't just stand there like an idiot, do something! With a quick pause, Brody slug his arm around Carlyn before pulling her back a few feet. Forcing the most apologetic smile on his face, he cleared his throat so that the attention was no longer on the girl he was holding but rather on himself. "I am so, so sorry for my sisters' behavior! I'm sorry, but you see, they aren't quite all there," Brody began smoothly. While he plastered a sheepish grin on his face, Brody could feel the nerves eating away at his insides with each lie that he fed the Peacekeepers.

"They are always going crazy in the house and my poor mother needed a break so I thought I would take them for a walk. I can assure this will never happen again," he continued, pushing away his worries of where Alicia and the other Peacekeeper may have gone. Please play along, he silently begged Carlyn as he squeezed her shoulders."As you saw, my sister- uh, Rose. Rose thought that this blue paint was shampoo and you can see how messy that turned out," he explained with a nod towards the direction that Alicia had run off to.

"And my other sister here, um, Pearl, she just doesn't do well around strangers," Brody leaned in towards the Peacekeepers as if his next words were embarrassing to him. "She once even bit one of her teachers." Pushing away the satisfied smile that threatened to give him away as he watched the Peacekeepers take a small step away from Carlyn, Brody began pulling Carlyn in the direction that Alicia ran. "Again, I apologize for their behavior, but you know, there is not much we can do about them since they can barely follow a simple instruction," he concluded with a forced chuckle. Brody continued pulling Carlyn away from the Peacekeepers before glancing down at her and giving her a reassuring smile. We should be fine now...As long as we can find Alicia get somewhere safe before anything else happens....

I just looked at the wild dog. Than my eyes drifted over to the died peacekeeper on the ground, just a few feet away from me. I crawled over to the peacekeeper and checked his pulse. I was right he was died. I fell back on my butt and looked at the wild dog.

It was skinny really skinny. It had some muscles but I bent that's from killing peacekeepers. I put my hand out to it and the dog slowly walks and puts it's head under my hand. I pet it slowly. I don't want to startle it.

I gasped lightly as Brody began pulling me backwards, and I stumbled a little in the process. Well that was abrupt, I thought, curious as to what he was going to say or do next. His words caught me off gaurd, and I had to fight to keep my mouth from gaping open. Lie after lie just poured out of his mouth, and I was quite surprised at how creative he was being. Coming up with something like that right on the spot was impressive, and he hesitated very little. From the way the Peacekeepers were looking at me, I knew they believed his story. His next lyrics, however, were something I'd later have to question him about after this whole charade had ended.

"She once even bit one of her teachers." His tone was hushed.

That was something he just couldn't resist saying, wasn't it? He was just being a boy, though, and what with the mess we were currently in, I couldn't blame him for wanting to say something of that nature. I was most certain that he only said that just to get at me, though. A sheepish smile crept its way onto my lips, and I let my attention drop to the ground, for some unknown reason feeling childish about this whole thing. But I'm sure it was probably the position I was in, and the tale Brody had just finished telling that contributed to that feeling. Hardly a moment had passed after he had stopped speaking that I was once more being dragged, and I just rested limply in his arm, my head resting on his chest.

When the both of us were far enough away from everyone to talk frelly without being overheard, I let my gaze flicker up to him, a happy grin on my face. "Nice lie, Starks. For a minute there, you even had me thinking it was true," I told him, not able to wipe the smile off my face. "And...blue paint?" I asked. There was then a silence between us, but it wasn't really awkward. At least, not to me. I searched his face for any portrayal of what he could possibly be thinking, but found nothing. My smile dissapeared, but half a second later, one appeared on his face.

"Could you stop dragging me now..? I can walk perfectly fine, I just tend to trip..."

Brody chuckled and gave a small bow as Carlyn complimented his lying skills. Not really a talent I'm proud of and I wasn't even sure if they'd buy it, but she doesn't need to know that. At her words, he realized that he was still holding onto her and quickly dropped his arm. Giving a sheepish grin, Brody shrugged, "Well I mean I couldn't have my crazed, teacher biting sister on the loose now could I?" Sending her a playful smirk, he suddenly remembered the jacket that somehow made it safely into his hands before his interesting story spilled from his mouth.

Looks like I'll have to take a different approach to get her to wear it, he trailed off before giving Carlyn a look that said 'busted!' Holding the jacket out Brody could practically feel the victorious pride radiating off of him. "Since my amazing story saved us, I think you owe me..." Letting his words hang int he air, Brody draped the jacket over her arms before giving her an expectant look. Suddenly, a thought hit him and he slapped his forehead. "Speaking of my story, where is my other, blue haired, crazed sister?" he asked no one in particular. Smooth move forgetting about the Avox who last time I saw was being chased by the other Peacekeeper.

Nudging Carlyn forward, Brody hoped they would find Alicia soon and hopefully not being escorted by the Peacekeeper. Glancing down at Carlyn, he realized that he was once again moving her by force. I really need to keep my hands to myself before I make her think I'm a creep. Assuming she doesn't already think that... his thoughts trailed off. Giving her an apologetic look, Brody quickly dropped his arms with a nervous chuckle. "Sorry, just don't want you tripping." Brody knew his excuse was feeble, but recalling her words about tripping, it was the only thing he could think of.

I started to inch closer to the dog as it started to crawl in my lap. I sat there petting it for what seamed like 30 minutes. Only I knew it could not be that long. The dog looked at the woods and whimpered. I started to get the feeling it could not make any other noise. It started to walk away and then looked at me.

The dog moved it's head like it wanted me to follow it. I moved slowly and it stayed there. I got to it and heard a voice. I don't know what it was but I did see to bodies when I turned around.

My eyes flickered around, looking for any sign of Alicia. Lost in time, I suddenly raced back into reality as Brody let me go, and I fell backwards, landing on the slush-covered ground. For a moment, all I did was stare up through the tree-tops, but finally pushed myself up, wiping the dirty snow off of my skin and clothes. Running my fingers through my hair to rake out whatever had become entangled in it, I let out a soft sigh. 

"Well I mean I couldn't have my crazed, teacher biting sister on the loose now could I?"

Raising an eyebrow, I looked him over, shooting him a small smile in return for his. Training my attention on his expression, I tilted my head to the side just a little, and a quizzical look appeared on my face. "What's that look f..." I said, and after realizing what he was doing, I continued, "...or." He was holding out his jacket, and he was smart enough to realize I wasn't going to take it, so he instead put it around me. "With that "teacher-biting" comment you made, I really shouldn't have to take the jacket. But since you're so persistent on the fact that I wear it, I will. Just don't expect me to wear it for long..."

Several moments passed, and soon enough, Brody was forcing me to move. Well then. The boy once more let go of me, and he had what seemed to be an apologetic smile on his face. 

"Sorry, just don't want you tripping."

"It really isn't a problem. I can use as much help as I can get when it comes to walking," I said, eyeing him. But the thoughts running through my mind about him were cut off as I saw something blue out of the corner of my eye. Whipping my head around, I let out a sigh of relief, and hurried over to her. Or, tried to, anyways. My brain hadn't yet registered the dead Peacekeeper on the ground, therefore causing me to trip and fly forward, once more landing on the ground.

I held my head in my hands for a few seconds, partially because I was embarrassed, and partially because that was twice I had hit my head on the ground. I'd be lucky to not pass out on the way back home. With a soft groan, I stood slowly, and walked over to Alicia, blinking rapidly. She was hunched over, looking at a wild dog. The thing didn't frighten me in the least; in fact, it look quite friendly. "Alicia, we should go. We outta lay low for a bit and stay out of trouble..." Trailing off, I glanced over at Brody, then at the ground.

OOC: Sorry it took so long to post. I got really busy. And this isn't a great post. Oh well. I hope you can find something in there to work with....

Brody grinned before shrugging, "Well you wearing it a little is better than nothing. And anyways, you might like being warm." Brody glanced up at the sky, noting that it was closer to noon than early morning now. Doesn't look like I'll be getting a job today... His thoughts were interrupted when Carlyn dashed forward before tripping over something.

"Are you ok?" he asked, one arm extended awkwardly as if he could have reached her. Pulling his gaze away form Carlyn, he noticed Alicia with a strange animal with her. Well at least we found her, now where's the Peacekeeper.... As his thoughts trailed off, Brody unwillingly let his gaze wander to where Carlyn had tripped. He stood, staring blankly at the dead body, barely registering that Carlyn was telling Alicia that they needed to lay low. Blinking once, twice, three times, Brody tried to wrap his mind around what was happening.

I just lied to a group of Peacekeepers for a girl and runaway Avox and now I'm staring at a dead Peacekeeper that the Avox somehow killed. Why can't I have a normal day? Pushing his thoughts away, Brody composed his features so that his face remained expressionless. "Yeah, laying low is definitely the next thing to do. But, we can't really just leave a dead body here...." he finally said, clearing his throat before running a hand through his already messed up hair.

Even as he said the words, Brody had no ideas of where they could move the body. After all, simply touching it could leave traces that would lead back to them. No, best option is to leave it alone and act like we never saw it. Find a place for them to lay low and play stupid, he told himself before turning to the two girls. "Well you two can lay low at my house for the time being. I doubt my mom will mind...but I don't think she'd be alright with that coming inside," he said, indicating to the wild animal.

I looked at my sister and Cody. Why lay low. I know it is for my own good but still. I start to back up and point to the peacekeeper that is died on the ground and than to the dog. Trying to say it wasn't me. I look at them and than back at the dog. I try to make a clicking noise.

It perks it's ears up and than makes a whimpering noise. It goes but I see it go kinda close to the fence. That was what I wanted. For it to say close to me. I nodded to my sister and Cody. Trying to say lets go.

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah. I-I'm fine," I stuttered quietly, not realizing that Brody had his arm extended as if he was going to help me up until I had already stood. Training my attention on Alicia, I took notice at how confused she seemed. She then began to step backwards the tiniest bit, pointed at the dead Peacekeeper, and then to the dog. Was she trying to say it was the dog..? "I honestly don't think you killed him, Alicia. You couldn't have torn him up like that..." I trailed off, beginning to think about this all, but my thoughts were quickly interrupted by Brody.

"Yeah, laying low is definitely the next thing to do. But, we can't really just leave a dead body here..."

I pondered over this for a moment, speaking after a few seconds. "I believe the best thing to do would be to just leave it alone. If and when they find him here, they'll most likely check him over for fingerprints and such. If we touch him even in the slightest, they'd be able to trace everything back to us. And even if we did get rid of him, don't you think someone would realize that one of the Peacekeepers was missing?" As I finished, I realized I was now looking at Brody, and shook my head, clearing my throat as I did so.

"Well you two can lay low at my house for the time being. I doubt my mom will mind...but I don't think she'd be alright with that coming inside."

Grabbing Alicia's wrist, I began to pull her gently along with me as I walked, and softly said "thanks" to Brody.

When Carlyn whispered a 'thanks' to Brody, he simply gave her a small smile before leading the two girls towards his house. Keeping his eyes and ears open, he crossed his fingers and hoped they would not run into the group of Peacekeepers again. As they neared his house, Brody began to question his choice of bringing the girls to his house. As much as he wanted to help them, was it smart to practically pull trouble through his front door and into the same house as his family? No, it's going to be fine. Mom won't mind, the girls are out with friends, and the Peacekeepers won't suspect anything, he quickly assured himself. Reaching the front door, Brody paused and turned to the two girls.

"The less my mom knows, the better. Please don't let her know about any of this, ok? If she asks, Alicia is sick and not talking so that her throat gets well. And we came here because....we know each other from school and I ran into you on the way to find a job. Alicia started feeling really dizzy so I suggested that we go to my house so she could rest." Brody made sure to lock eyes with both girls so that they understood the plan. Taking a breath, he opened the front door and ushered them inside. Glancing around, Brody did not see his mother at first. Maybe she went out to get something from the market...that would make it easier and- his thoughts were cut short by the sound of pots clanking against one another. "Brody, is that you?" came his mother's voice.

Wincing slightly, Brody pushed a hand through his hair before calling back, "Yeah mom, it's me." Within a few minutes, his mother rounded the corner with a grin on her face. "Back so soon? Did you find a job? Oh I'm so proud, honey!" she began to chatter and Brody immediately felt guilty for going yet another day without finding a job. Scratching the back of his neck, Brody could not find it in him to meet his mother's eyes as he shook his head and muttered, "No, I haven't found a job yet...I just came here with my two friends since when I ran into them, Alicia felt dizzy and I offered to let her lay down her for a bit." Brody glanced up to see the hope on his mother's face quickly dissolve before her eyes landed on Alicia and Carlyn. A friendly smile reappeared onto her face and Brody watched as she came forward to greet the girls. "Oh well of course! That's quite alright! I'm Miss Starks, I'm so sorry you don't feel well dear," she introduced. Brody stood awkwardly to the side and gave Alicia and Carlyn an encouraging smile. Hopefully she won't ask too many questions....

As we walked I keep looking over to the fence. I was keeping an eye on my new dog friend. I wanted to send it a mental note but I didn't think I could. We keep walking and finally reached his house. He told us the story to tell his mom. Than she came out of the corner and started to talk to him. This was cool.Why couldn't he just say I was mute. Who knows, Some people are mute. They are just born that way. I mean One of my friends back in District 1 was deaf and mute. It was so weird but cool. I learned new things from her. When Brody's mom started to talk to me I put both my hands on my throuht trying to say I didn't feel good.

I was alert and a bit tense the entire way to Brody's home, keeping an eye out for any sign of trouble. Thankfully, we all made it to the house without anything happening. I shook myself, loosening myself up. Hopefully I wouldn't be too awkward around anyone of Brody's family members. He then began to talk, and I listened carefully, not wanting to mess something up.

"The less my mom knows, the better. Please don't let her know about any of this, ok? If she asks, Alicia is sick and not talking so that her throat gets well. And we came here because....we know each other from school and I ran into you on the way to find a job. Alicia started feeling really dizzy so I suggested that we go to my house so she could rest."

The only thing I could manage to do to show him that I understood was give a quick nod before I was being ushered through his front door. Everything was silent for less than two seconds before the clanking of pots was heard from what I assumed to be the kitchen. Brody's mom then came into the front room, and both mother and son became engaged in conversation. He's looking for a job..? I asked myself silently, wondering if Alicia and I were the reason why he didn't get a job today. A frown appeared on my face at the thought, but I quickly wiped it off my face, hoping no-one had noticed. Instead, a warm smile curled onto my lips as Miss Starks turned her attention to us.

My eyes flickered over to Brody for a moment before returning my attention on his mother and Alicia. The blue-haired girl hand raised her hands up to her throat, and I cut in after a few seconds. "You see, Alicia has been sick over the past couple of days, and her tonsils have become quite swollen. I figured it would be best for her not to talk, since you strain both your tonsils and vocal cords when you do, which in turn irritates your throat." My once confident smile dissipated and was replaced with a sheepish grin. "I really do hope we aren't being a bother; if we are, it's perfectly alright if we need to leave."

Brody watched as concern and confusion flitted across his mother's face when Alicia simply held her throat with both hands. Just as he was about to step in and try to explain, Carlyn came to the rescue. An understanding smile soon replaced her worry and Brody felt a smile of his own take over his features. He had always been close to his family and moments like this were when he thanked his lucky stars for giving him such an understanding mother. "Oh of course, dear! Well I was just about to start on lunch, I'll add a cup of a special tea to help soothe your throat some," she cooed with a motherly expression. She suddenly turned her attention to Brody and he let his smile falter at her narrowed gaze. "These poor girls look exhausted! I expect you to take them to your room so they can lie down and rest for a bit. After all, this poor dear is sick and if you don't act like a proper host for our guests, the other dear may get sick too! I don't need them thinking I don't run a proper household," she scolded before sending a wink and smile to the girls and scuttling around the corner to the kitchen.

Brody groaned slightly, hoping his face did not betray how embarrassed he was by his mother. Nice job humiliating me mom, he thought before giving the Alicia and Carlyn a sheepish look. "Er...Sorry about her.....So, um, my room is this way," he muttered before leading them towards the nearest door. Opening the door, he cursed himself mentally for not at least cleaning his room a little before leaving that morning. The blankets and pillows were still wrinkled from him sleeping in them, a few job rejection notes lay strewn on his desk, and a pair or two of pants and a couple of shirts completed the messy appearance. Real attractive Brody.... Pushing away his thoughts Brody focused on the girls and gave them a boyish shrug. "So I'm obviously not the neatest person....But um the bed is free of anything like bed bugs and lice..." Brody began with a playful grin before smoothing out the bed so that they could sit on it if they wanted to.
